Eicma 2008: crazy scooters Suzuki
Among the many weird and wonderful motorcycles at the Eicma show, Suzuki has some particularly colourful gems on display.
The first is the Van Van special, with Hawaiian colours, and a summer surfy look. We especially appreciate it in the rainy weather we’ve been having in Italy recently.
The second and more elaborate Suzuki piece is a kind of fooze ball scooter called “Sixteen” with a saddle in football field design, and synthetic grass elements. The rear passenger pedals have been created with little soccer men - genius?!
The third quirky Suzuki model at the Eicma show is the Gemma, currently sold in Japan and noted for its smooth lines and “low riding” style.
Eicma 2008: Aprilia Mana X concept
Aprilia has presented its Mana X concept at the Eicma show in Milan, a project based on the Mana and therefore equipped with a twin cylinder 850cc V engine at 90°, with electronic sportgear transmission and tubular trellis chassis.
The Aprilia Mana X, as seen in this Eicma gallery is a special automatic, presented in a new configuration for the Noale company. The new rear suspension linked to the tyres makes this almost a cafè racer or a scrambler.
Being a concept vehicle at this stage there is no news on eventual production. But never say never.
Eicma 2008: Ktm pics
Here are some shots from the KTM stand at the Eicma show, showing some of the anticipated 2009 models from the company. KTM has an impressive line-up for 2009 including the new 690 Enduro R and the 990 Supermoto R.
Eicma 2008: Ducati 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition
The Ducati 2009 Superbike range comprises five models: the 848, light and agile, the new 1198, incredibly powerful and and the highly technical 1198 S, and the 1098 R, both equipped with the drive control system developed by Ducati Corse on its road version.
But to celebrate the third world championship superbike title won by Troy Bayliss, and to celebrate Bayliss’ retirement from professional racing, Ducati has created a 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition, presented at the Eicma show. We’re putting together all the details from the presentation, but in the meantime enjoy these live shots of the Ducati limited edition.

Eicma girls 2008: the brunettes
After our Eicma gallery on the blonde girls from the motorcycle show, we give you this look at the brunettes and some very fine motorcycle chicks.
It just proves that Eicma is all about lovely models - and we don’t mean just the bikes.
Eicma 2008: Husqvarna SMQ concept
The idea behind the SMQ project is to give life to a new generation of motorcycles, as seen at the Eicma show in the presentation of a new Husqvarna prototype.
This exciting and easy to ride model gives great handling and manoeuvrability, and is incredibly light. This means a lot more fun. The SMQ also has a lower saddle, compact form and better power-weight ratio.
Characterised by typical Husqvarna rigorous design, the SMQ presents a mix of vintage style with modern technology. In the gallery you can see both our shots from Eicma, and the official Husqvarna photos.
Eicma 2008: Marco Simoncelli signs autographs
Fans went crazy over the arrival of Marco Simoncelli at Eicma in Milan, as seen in this Eicma gallery. The 250cc world champion declared he will stay in that class and will delay his passage to MotoGP. Simoncelli turned out to be a really nice guy, advising the young crowd to take it easy riding as the road is not a track.
In the photos of Simoncelli, you can see an affectionate crowd gather, leaving the girl on Simoncelli’s bike on her own… With his shock of curly hair, Simoncelli is easily recognisable and is now considered the new Valentino Rossi. The two champions are friends - could this be a telling sign of a new Rossi in the making?

Eicma 2008 gallery: Ducati Streetfighter 2009
These pics come from the Ducati Streetfighter and Streetfighter S presentation at the Eicma show in Milan. Expectations were high leading up to the event, with photos of the Ducati naked on the internet prior to Eicma.
The Streetfighter gallery shows the new powerful 1099cc bike with 155hp. With plenty of features such as Marchesini wheels and Ohlins equipment, seeing this bike just makes us want to try it.

Eicma girls 2008: sexy bikers at the Eicma show
You can’t have a motorcycle show without motorcycle girls and here we give you our first gallery of the Eicma girls, with the blonde sexy bikers present at the show. There are a couple of nice looking red-heads too.

Eicma 2008: Bimota DB7 Oronero pics
Take a look at our pics from the presentation of the Bimota 2009 Oronero (Black Gold in Italian) that was presented at the 2008 Eicma Milan show. It’s a limited edition and will go on sale in February 2009. If you fancy it and would like to buy it, you can do so immediately, but expect to pull out a hefty amount of cash, because this gorgeous bike goes for about € 39,960 and that excludes registration fees.
So what do you get for € 40,000? A 1099cc v-twin sourced from Ducati’s 1098, the central section of the swingarm and all the bodywork is in carbon fibre, the rear tire suspension springs are in titanium and the front brake mounts a double 320mm WAVE floating disc. You also get GET (Global Engineering Technologies) digital instrumentation and GPS integrated system that allows you to download on your personal computer racing lines and track speed, all this and much, much more.
