Garelli designed all the details, including the engine, combining colours, performance and technology worthy of superbike status fun, but also safety. The racing nature can be seen in the agressive lines and air intakes essential for the liquid cooled engine.

Nuovi disegni dello scooter ibrido a tre ruote Peugeot

In these pics you can see the hybrid, three-wheel scooter presented by Peugeot at the Eicma show. Models such as these could become a new alternative in urban, ecological vehicles.

The main characteristic of this scooter is the all-wheel drive on three wheels. The thermal 125cc engine has Satelis Compressor and produces 15kw (20hp) from the rear wheel.

There are two 3kw electric engines situated near the front wheels, which are equipped with lithium ion batteries that are rechargeable in deceleration. The cooperation between the two engines is electronically controlled by the “By Wire” system.

Video: Vespa live at Eicma for Italian style

By Alison

This is a fantastic little video from MotoTV on the Vespa stand at the Eicma show. As said in the video, Vespa is an icon the world over, and no longer just belongs to Italy.

The modern day Vespas have plenty of classic style, as the presenter says in the opening the lovely red model looks like it just stepped out of the 50’s. But this classic Vespa style is backed up by substance, with modern technology such as electronic ignition to keep up with the times.

Featured is the Vespa sidecar prototype, which currently has no future in production but as we’re told, you never know…I can’t wait to see that zipping around Milan!

Our road tests: Aprilia Dorsoduro, part one

By Alison

Aprilia Dorsoduro Motoblog Test

While there was so much to organise for our coverage of the Eicma show, what with all the beautiful Ducati models, the Honda Fireblade and Hornet, the Victory custom models, KTM and of course the blonde and brunette girls, it’s very easy to get distracted.

It was also very easy to be distracted by the possibility of an Aprilia Dorsoduro sitting in the garage, waiting for a test ride. And so our colleagues at Motoblog.it couldn’t resist such a delicious opportunity, and we give you this first instalment of their Dorsoduro road test.

In the first test in city traffic and on urban roads, the Aprilia Dorsoduro was already convincing, though we had an idea just from taking a look at this lovely motorcycle that this would be the case.

Ducati fashion show 2009

By koen

Ducati keeps on bringing us news, after the Ducati Streetfighter and Superbike shown at the EICMA Fiera. But today we’ve got some American Ducati news. Ducati North America will organise the Ducati Apparel line 2009 during a fall fashion night. We’re not talking about the new watches, we are talking about a fashion line including technical and lifestyle clothing. The fashion show will take place on November 14th and 28 dealers nationwide will be present.

George Colvin, Ducati’s Apparel Manager said: “The 2009 line is Ducati’s most cutting edge yet, and it will steal the show on runways nationwide. Ducati is an icon that embraces Italian design, and the fashion weekend will bring out the new apparel in style.”

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade 2009

By Alison

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade 2009

Honda’s CBR1000RR Fireblade was confirmed as the leader in its sector for 2008, both in terms of sales and performance. It’s lighter, more agile and faster than the competition, and can be adapted to both road and track riding.

For the 2009 version, Honda technicians have pushed for even greater tecnology, introducing some safety elements without compromising the Fireblade’s agression. Electric controlled combined ABS is the latest addition, and has really contributed to the dynamic capabilities of this bike.

While creating C-ABS on a bike with the performance of the Fireblade is an undoubtedly difficult task, Honda has managed this without betraying the sports soul of the bike, and keeping the weight increase relatively restricted.
