Officine Rossopuro turns Moto Guzzi Stelvio into "Motard One"

By Adrian

Motard One_Officine RossoPuro

We have never seen a customized Moto Guzzi Stelvio before, but Mr. Filippo Barbacane and the other people at Officine Rossopuro went a little further than that, transfroming the massive adventure tourer from the Italian manufacturer into this aggressive supermoto bike, renamed ‘Motard One‘. If we didn’t know, we surely wouldn’t have guessed it.

The Motard One is powered by the famous ‘Big Bore’, a 90° V-twin engine with two valves per cylinder whose displacement was brought up to 1420cc by Italian factory Millepercento. The engine now weights only 62kg, produces 140 hp and uses a new radiator and a new exhaust system hand-made by Officine Rossopuro’s main man Filippo Barbacane himself.

The bike braking system was upgraded using selected Brembo’s components, the fork is a brilliant 50mm Marzocchi, rims comes from Marchesini and on the rear it boasts Extreme Tech racing suspension. The whole rear end has been heavily modified and now featrues a small tail with beautiful hand-made finishing. Although it is hard to detect Stelvio’s somatic traits in the Motard One, we are sure that if such a model would be featured in Moto Guzzi’s official catalogue, many people would seriously consider buying one.

Rosso Puro TTre Moto Guzzi vintage custom by Filippo Barbacane

By Alison

TTre Rossopuro by Filippo Barbacane

Filippo Barbacane could be considered the modern embodiment of the Moto Guzzi philosophy, and his Rossopuro brand is well known among fans of Guzzi and afficionados of the aftermarket and tuning segments. It seems that the majority of the Barbacane creations are made for the sake of art in a motorcycle world, and this TTre is another example of the Barbacane design.

The original bike used to arrived at this finished product was an SP 1000 and it has been dressed in an elegant vintage style to create a not-so-extreme café racer. About four months were required to build it, and it is full of small, refined details. Overall, we get a sober bike, with a shiny look for the engine which seems like it just came off the production line. The 45 mm handlebars are adjustable, and the cone-shaped exhaust is from Megaton.

The front fork measures 45 mm and is from Marzocchi, while the rear suspension is made from two Asatek springs. The tubeless wheels measure 17-inches and the brakes are from the Brembo Serie Oro range with twin, 320 mm discs. The small saddle is completely handmade, as is the rear mudguard. After the jump you’ll find the technical specs of this TTre by Rossopure and Filippo Barbacane.

Moto Guzzi V11 special edition by Barbacane: the Coppa Acerbo

By Alison

Moto Guzzi V11 Coppa Acerbo by Barbacane

This Moto Guzzi special edition by Filippo Barbacane, called the “Coppa Acerbo” is based on the beautiful Moto Guzzi V11. The ‘Coppa Acerbo’ name refers to a race that was held in Pescara, Italy, from 1924 to 1961, which was then renamed (Circuito di Pescara) as the creator of the race, Giacomo Acerbo, was a government minister during Italy’s fascist period. The race was more than 25 kg long, and much of it was on a city track.

Barbacane dedicated the ‘Coppa Acerbo’ to this race, in a Guzzi which apparently disappeared from the sales list a few years ago. This special edition Moto Guzzi features “Alpine” spoke wheels, hand-built chrome exhaust, aluminium front mud guards, and an Ergal transmission shaft. The seat is wider than that of a classic V11 and the rear lights are also new.

This particular Moto Guzzi Coppa Acerbo has a few extra modifications from Rossopuro, specialists in Moto Guzzi accessories. If you want to see more of their work, visit the Rossopuro website.

Millepercento bikes and design: Alba and Motard One from Barbacane Diamante fame

By Alison

Millepercento Alba

Here’s a look at the Moto Guzzi, or Millepercento bike design seen at the EICMA, although neither Moto Guzzi nor Millepercento itself has released much detail about these bikes. Millepercento was once a dealership and repair shop back in the 60’s and 70’s for Moto Guzzi bikes, but also Moto Morini, Benelli and MV Agusta. Owned by the Valli family, throughout the years it saw some tough times but also had the expertise of a dedicated few, including Bruno Scola in the 90’s, from Moto Guzzi’s racing department.

The Millepercento brand today was founded in 2005 by a young Stefano, eventually taking over the Scola name. He believed in Italian motorcycles and saw new innovation and products emerging from Moto Guzzi. The company now occupies itself in parts and accessories for Moto Guzzi and other brands, along with a racing department and trial equipment for the bikes, functioning as a kind of racing tuner for Guzzi bikes.

The bikes that have been used for racing include the Moto Guzzi MGS-01 and the BB1, seen in 2007 as the first Millepercento branded bike. This year at EICMA, Millepercento displayed its sports prototype Alba model, based on the Moto Guzzi twin-cylinder, four-valve, 1200 engine. Alongside it was the Millepercento Motard One, designed by Filippo Barbacane and equipped with the Big Bore 1420 cc engine.

It was the engine of the BB1, originally based on the Moto Guzzi Griso, and is housed in a trellis frame where the overall chassis and bike should not exceed 180 kg in weight. This Motard One will most likely be sold as a one-off piece, as an exercise in style and design (and not necessarily comfort!). Barbacane is becoming known almost as a guru in Moto Guzzi bikes, as he also produced the Diamante concept seen a while ago.

Moto Guzzi Diamante combines Gilera CX125 and Griso 8V

By Alison

Guzzi Diamante by Filippo Barbacane

This is one seriously modified Moto Guzzi Griso 8V. Designer Filippo Barbacane (of Guzzi Ciclope fame) has taken the front end of a Gilera CX125, used bespoke bodywork and then managed to include the performance of the Griso 8V, while still managing its heavier weight.

The fuel tank has been moved to the rear subframe to make way for an airbox and top-mounted intake. The 1420cc engine with 140 hp now also has increased cooling capacity, and the exhaust has been mounted lower down. The name “Diamante” means diamond.

The engine tuning has been completed by the Millepercento company and while Barbacane will be producing only 30 of these, there are calls in the comments over on Hellforleather for Moto Guzzi to start a mass production run.
