Spanish rider Fonsi Nieto has confermed that he will probably sign an agreement with Team Alstare Suzuki and will be on the grid for the first race of the WSBK Championship at Phillip Island on March 1st.
In spite of not being present at the Portimao tests last weekend Nieto has said that he’ll be using a semi -official Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 sponsored by Pepe Phone (Globalia Group) and will receive the same treatment that Max Neukirchner had last season (a lower spec bike) and will share a garage with Neukirchner and Yukio Kagayama.
“We where not in the provisional riders entry lists because we reached an agreement shortly after they were published, but finally have reached an agreement that I hope that we’ll sign next Tuesday. I am very satisfied because my priority was to continue with Alstare. The idea is to train the weekend before the first race in Phillip Island, but I’d like to get some track time also in Valencia”.

Our compliments go to Danny Gladman, owner of this GSX-R 1000 Fonsi Nieto Replica. The English fan spent a load of cash and some hard work the recreate the look of the splendid Sol Levante superbike.
In addition to the paint work, Danny has equipped the GSX with Twin Arrow Titanium Megaphone exhausts, Power Comander III USB, K&N air filter and an LCD from Dynojet.
The bike has been autographed by Alstare riders Fonsi Nieto, Max Neukirchner and Yukio Kagayama. The weight is around 165 kg, and power hits 171 hp! And yes, we’re jealous…
