Two time 500cc world champion Freddie”Fast” Spencer and Grand Prix legend walks us through this old, but fantastic three part documentary from the ’80s and gets into the technical aspects of motorcycle racing, but the best part is all the classic racing footage and that famous speed test at Laguna Seca between a Nissan 300ZX Turbo road car, a Suzuki GSX1000 street bike, and Spencer’s 1984 Honda GP bike.
We won’t tell you how it ended, you’ll have to watch the video for that, but we recommend you take a half an hour of your time to watch all three videos, you won’t regret it.

World famous mechanic and Valentino Rossi’s crew chief has left a long interview with SuperBikePlanet in which he reveals many aspects of his long and rich career with riders like Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan and Freddie Spencer. Jeremy Burgess discusses some fascinating moments of MotoGP history and the riders themselves. Some quotes from the interview, on being chief mechanic at Honda for Wayne Gardner:
“Honda, as a company, if they saw that you could offer more to them, or you had the potential to do more, if you didn’t do that, you weren’t doing the best for Honda. So it basically came down, when he explained it to me, “you don’t have a choice. You’re either going to be the chief mechanic for Wayne Gardner, or you’re shirking your issues.”
On the difference between Gardner and Doohan, Burgess says:
“To draw the parallel of him [Gardner] and Mick (Doohan), Wayne you would have to go and tell him that “you can beat those guys. You beat them last week. You can do it. You can do it. You can do it.”

When you see Freddie Spencer trying to sell pieces of his personal racing history like his championship 1983 Honda NSR500 and his 1985 championship NSR250, you just know things can’t be going that well for one of the greatest racers of all times.
Fast Freddie who is the only rider in history to won both the 250cc and 500cc World championship in the same year, has decided to sell off these championship bikes. The bikes are so rare, that they’re the only ones in exsistence outside the Honda museum in Japan and are being sold off as a pair.

This splendid photo takes in two great champions from times gone by in the two-wheel world. This start of the AMA Superbike championship, to which World Superbike owes a lot, sees Eddie Lawson on the Kawasaki 60 and Freddie Spencer on the Honda 43 on the track.
That’s seven world titles shared between the two of them, and in this pic, the start of what looks like another battle. Thanks to antosette for the tip.
