Actor Gérard Depardieu in the movie Mammuth, a sort of French road movie that was first seen at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival rides a Münch Mammut.

Münch is one of the rarest names in motorcycling, with less than 250 bikes ever built and the “Mammoth,” or “Mammut” in German, as it was branded, was for its size and bulk. Designed by German engineer Friedl Münch who believed that bigger was better, so he fitted his bikes with 4 cylinder inline NSU car engines.

Getting back to the movie, Depardieu plays the part of a working-class man that has reached retirement age only to find out that his former employers have forgotten to declare his earnings and in order to retire with full benefits, his only solution is seek out his past employers and he hits the road on a 70’s Mammut motorbike that earned him his nickname and returns to the places of his youth and retraces his past life.

Gerard Depardieu’s Yamaha showroom is set to open in September.

The showroom will be 3000 metres square, and will be entirely dedicated to Yamaha bikes. It will be co-managed with Alexandre Salvatore, owner of the Yamaha dealership at Les 2 Roues di Goussainville (95).

The new dealership, with Depardieu’s 50 percent stake, is located at Roissy en France, not far from the Charles de Gaulle airport.

As reported by Bikes in the Fast Lane, wine and motorcycling don’t mix, though actor Gerard Depardieu has added a Yamaha dealership to his list of business interests.

After a mixed history with motorcycles including a crash, and a drink driving offence back in 1990, Depardieu is also a Yamaha fan and was recently seen at the launch of the V-Max.

We don’t know whether the actor will be making any appearances at his dealership, but if you’re interested in dropping in, it’s in Roissy-en-France, not far from the airport.
