In the world of electric scooters, Germany’s Govecs has a reputation for being one of the most innovative manufacturer around. Recently they have expanded their range of products with the arrival of the first ever cargo scooter powered by an electric engine. The new models - which belong to the GO! T-series - have been unveiled at the POST-EXPO 2011, an international fair aimed at the postal, express and mailing industry.
Thanks to the many different features that this new range of products can offer, every company has the chance to choose the most suitable model for its business. The series includes the GO! T1.2, GO! T2.4 and GO! T3.4 models. All components are made of high quality materials, especially batteries, which can push these bikes up to 80km/h top speed and provide 50-70km of full autonomy. Cargo boxes are available in standard 50 and 170 litres capacity, and their flexible mounting system makes them suitable for all needs. Thanks to its low center of gravity, the vehicles can handle a total load of 175kg without compromising control, stability and safety.
The GO! T3.4 model boasts hydraulic disc brakes that allows it to perform the so-called “regenerative breaking” , which makes the scooter recover energy while saving electricity, while increasing at the same time both battery capacity and range of operation. Lithium-polymer batteries are controlled by a diagnostic software and, in the case of the GO! T2.4 model, can provide a range of 100km. All scooters can be recharged through any household socket by using the integrated charger and a 220v plug. 85% of the charging capacity is reached after only two hours of charging.
We can see some motorcycling in the snow with this video of the Govecs electric SlideScooters from Riminimoto. The Italians have adapted their passion for motorcycling to the winter season as well, and with the snow that Europe has seen in the last couple of weeks, it’s not surprising they’re finding more ways to enjoy two wheeling in winter.
The Slidescooters bike is a combination of a standard scooter with SKS front slide (like a skateboard without wheels) that subsitutes the front wheel. The Govecs bikes are a true alternative to snow mobiles and old-fashioned sleds, being effective, environmentally friendly and economical. For more information, see the slidescooters.com site.
