Kawasaki ZX10R Hayate Replica Marco Melandri

German company Hoely has created this tuning of the ZX10R, calling it the Kawasaki ZX10R Hayate Replica. The bike was presented to Marco Melandri during a delivery of a mini-moto which was also a Hayate replica.

This ZX10R replica is made for road use, and we expect Melandri is happy with the result… this is one very mean looking machine!

Mika Kallio Takes out Marco Melandri

By Toni M.

From yesterday’s MotoGP race at Brno, Mika Kallio who is substituting for Casey Stoner on the factory Ducati took out Marco Melandri on the penultimate lap. Livio Suppo called it a normal racing incident, but the Finn exaggerated his reaction with a couple of pushes and shoves and a verbal exchange with the Italian.

Kallio would later say: “Then came the crash with Melandri, who tried to pass me where it was impossible to, so that finally our lines crossed! I didn’t see him coming at all.”

Melandri saw the incident differently and said: “I was passed him and then suddenly I got hit from behind. I’m not sure how he can blame me when I was in front of him. Maybe when he watches the video he will change his mind.”

Does Kallio suffer of some sort of peripheral vision problem or was he just not looking?

Hayate celebrates Marco Melandri's Birthday

By Toni M.

melandri birthday

Marco Melandri turned 27 on August 7th, but since MotoGP was on hold for the brief summer break, the Hayate team decided to celebrate his birthday today with a very special cake. We don’t know what is was supposed to represent or if it’s some inside joke, but it looks like an Egyptian mummy with cantaloupe tits.

Since Hayate Racing Team will be pulling out at the end of the season, Melandri was seen at Brno wearing a black cap with “For Free” written on it. A not very subliminal message to any team manager who could get Melandri, who desperately wants to remain in MotoGP, at a very cheap price.

And for you guys that didn’t see Melandri or the cake in the pic, the young lady is Melandri’s girlfriend Manuela Raffaetà, lingerie model/wannabe starlet. The lady has her own website with hot photos and videos that you can find here.

John Hopkins breaks silence , sort of

By Toni M.

john hopkins

After posting his last message on his personal website on the 31st of December, John Hopkins has finally broke the silence. Besides thanking all his fans for their support, Hopper also says that he’s got a big treat in store for everyone and he’s also said that his management team told him keep quiet.

Since Kawasaki’s pullout, Hopkins fate has been speculated on by all and sundry and his name has been linked to Stiggy Honda to replace a first ailing Roberto Rolfo and after the first WSBK race at Phillip Island to replace the same Rolfo who got beat by his new team mate and rookie Leon Haslam. Hopper has also been linked to Paul Bird’s official Kawasaki team.

According to Marco Melandri, Hopkins did not want to ride for the new Hayate/Kawasaki team and that Hopkins has given up and his opinion the money question is more important for the Anglo-American rider, while now they would have to race for nothing.

They’ve disguised a Kawasaki making it a Hayate, but changing Colin’s bike into a Yamapa is just taking it a little too far.

Thanks to haw for the tip.

By Toni M.

hayate_logo Not Dornaski nor Kaworna, but Hayate. This is the name that has been chosen by Kawasaki for their private team. The new team will be equipped with Kawasaki motorcycles and supporting materials, but has opted to change its name because the lack of official factory backing.

Hayate means ‘Hurricane’ in Japanese.

Marco Melandri besides stating to the Italian press that he was not informed beforehand and that it was a big surprise has also added: “I don’t know whether the bikes are in Qatar, but I guess they are. But the team is formed: the mechanics are the same I had in the first tests, and they will be headed by telemetry man Andrea Dosoli.”
