Honda CB1100

The Honda CB1100 vintage naked is available in Japan dealerships this week, at a price of about 8,000 euros (950,000 yen). There’s no knowing whether the CB1100 will hit the export market yet, although even if that price were to increase, it seems quite competitive. The production CB1100 is based on the CB1100F concept of 2007, and is available in red, black and white, with ABS or without, and with an option of high or low handlebars.

The CB1100 is designed very much as a vintage style bike and as such has modest performance stats. The four-cylinder DOHC engine produces 87 hp and 92 Nm of torque, ideal for this kind of cruising, retro bike. The focus on good looks is evident in the finished product of the CB1100 and that’s what this is all about - a stylish, good looking, retro run-around. See the pics and video for a closer look.

Honda CB1100F

MCN has published these computer generated images of the highly anticipated future Honda CB1100F. While we’ll have to wait a while before seeing it in Europe, reports from Japan say the bike will appear as early as 2010 in its home market.

While the CB1100F will keep the same retro style, some new features are being added such as a new side panel and engine crank case from the CB1300R. There will be an extensive list of optional extras, including carbon fibre bolts and even an alcantara seat.

In the small gallery, the blue CB1100F is the basic version, while the red model shows the Honda with its accessories.

Honda CB1100F to arrive in 2009?

Honda deposita i brevetti per la CB1100F

The site Solomoto30 reports that Honda has sped up its project of the CB1100F, presented at the Tokyo show in 2007 as a four cylinder, retro style concept.

This could mean that Honda will anticipate the market launch of this final version of the naked, as what happened with the Fury chopper model. There is no news, however, as to when or where this presentation will take place.

The CB1100F represents the heir to the much loved Honda CB 750 Four, a four cylinder naked that was made in 1969, meaning that 2009 would be the 40th anniversary of the previous model. The 1100 has a four-stroke, four-cylinder air cooled engine, matched to a frame and suspensions with a retro look that is quite captivating.
