Honda is at the 2012 Motor Bike Expo in Verona with most of the models showcased at the 2011 EICMA, dispatching its massive fleet of motorcycles and scooters in one of the biggest stands at the event. Obviously, the brand new Crosstourer, Integra and the twins NC700S and NC700X are the ones which drawn the most attention, but the crowd in Verona seemed to enjoy all models as well as Honda’s own clothing line and gadgets. Honda did not forget to pay tribute to the late Mika Ahola, the 5 times Enduro World Champion who died about a week ago back, honoured in a special area of the stand.

Honda released a minute-long promo video featuring the new NC700 range for the year 2012, namely Honda NC700S and NC700X. The two bikes have been recently introduced to the public at the 2011 EICMA and have been developed on the same platform, sharing the same 47 hp in-line 2-cylinder 643cc engine and the 17″ wheels, but each one boasts its own distinct personality.

The NC700S, is basically a small naked commuter, with low seat position and accessible width of the handlebars that ensures passengers’ comfort and security with twin grab handles. Honda NC700X is a crossover model with unique styling, more upright riding position, taller seat height and slightly longer suspension travel.

The same platform that generated these two machines is also shared by Honda Integra maxi-scooter. Both models will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional dual clutch transmission.

Together with its twin sister NC700S (that we introduced in a dedicated post just a few hours ago), Honda NC700X is at the 2011 EICMA too. This crossover model has been developed on the same platform that generated its naked sister - no pun intended, of course - as well as the Integra model. The NC700 X obviously uses longer travel suspension and more adventurous aesthetics, and comes with either manual or dual clutch transmission (DCT), just like the other two.

These three bikes also share the same 47 hp 643cc engine and the 17″ wheels, fitted with a 120 tyre on the front and a 160 on the rear. The NC700X also boasts a storage space for the helmet in place of the fuel tank, which has been positioned under the saddle. Here are the first pics taken live at the 2011 EICMA, check them out.
