Did we mention we love Vespa? I want one, especially if it’s the GTS 300 Super. Anyway, in this strange little video, you can see that Vespa is not about big boys showing off. Vespa is about subtle Italian romance…

How come I never get to see George Clooney at Lake Como on a motorcycle, dammit?! I live on the lake (the non-Clooney side, where the normal people live), and in my brief trips around in my little Opel Corsa I have never ever seen George.
Apparently the American film star has been enjoying the summer that’s arrived all at once over here and has been touring around on a Harley Davidson. Rumours about his trip over here go from everything from road trips with Brad Pitt, to his girlfriend’s breast enlargement. Whatever.
Lake Como is full of Americans at the moment so it’s quite possible George is just enjoying a holiday over here. And I can really recommend a motorcycle tour of Lake Como, or even a Vespa tour for some true Italian style. You wanted scenery right…?

Garelli Outlet is a new sales channel from Garelli that will distribute the company’s scooters. Garelli Outlet points differentiate themselves from the traditional network because they distribute two specific product ranges. Scooters sold through the outlets, found in major distribution groups, will use the same services of the traditional network.
The outlet range includes the Ciclone 50, Capri 50 LX, Noi 125 and 150i, and from June the brand new Rider 50. The Ciclone 50 is a functional base model with underseat storage, and is ideal for vacations, for example to include with your caravan or boat.
The Capri LX50 is a young model for cool girls who want an original and colourful model that reflects American style. Custom instruments, four-stroke engine and underseat storage are all part of this model.
A new take on the Piaggio Vespa GTS 300 has been seen at Florence’s Pitti Uomo fashion show.

After having “dirtied” the Vespa with a new design, GIVI has now moved to other new windshields with witty, fashionable and fantastical grafics. These designs can be seen on the base of the plexiglass windshield, and don’t interfere with visibility while still giving your scooter a personal touch.
After the Vespa model in the left hand photo, Givi has also created designs for the Aprilia Scarabeo 150-200 and the Honda SH 125i-150i. For more information go to www.givi.it.

As we’ve done the profile on the Aprilia’s new Sportcity Cube 300, we thought we’d give you the details on the other new model, the Sportcity One. Below you can check out the technical and stylistic elements of this scooter, and go to our Sportcity One photo gallery for all the shots.
This guy is the smaller version of the more hefty Cube scooter, and is designed for a nifty urban use in city traffic (we work in Milan, we know what it’s like). Aprilia has really bet on agility and an excellent quality-price ratio in this offering. The two engine sizes, 50 and 125, give flexibility in choice for this city scooter.
On design details, Aprilia says in its press release:
With its decisive, simple yet distinctive lines, one glance is enough to see that the One is a true Sportcity. The compact yet protective front shield, generous seat, passenger grab handles and flat platform all compress maximum spaciousness into minimum space. Neither does the Sportcity One’s essential design stop it offering one of the best under-seat storage compartments in its class, with enough room for a full face helmet.

After yesterday’s launch of Aprilia’s new Sportcity Cube scooter, we bring you some technical details from the press release. For a full photo gallery of the new model, go to our gallery of the Sportcity Cube.
Aprilia has expanded on its tradition of large wheel scooters, while creating added elegant and versatile features. Aprilia says:
Thanks to 15 inch wheels, generous tyres, sporty engines and a superbly rigid frame, the Sportcity stood out immediately for its ability to combine the comfort of a large wheel scooter with the power and handling of a sports scooter to offer a dynamic and exciting solution to the problems of urban mobility.
