Video: Paris Hilton arrives at Jay Leno's on a motorcycle with her team's livery

By Toni M.

Paris Hilton arrived at Jay Leno’s show last tonight, aboard a bike painted in her 125cc GP team’s colors and she even talked about 16-year old rider Maverick Vinales winning his first ever MotoGP race at Le Mans, for about … 20 seconds.

You’d think that the lady could dedicate some of her time in plugging the team that carries her name especially with a gearhead like Leno, not that we expected that he’d ask her opinion on the demise of the 125cc series and what she thinks of the new 2012 Moto3 format.

Yamaha Riders at Jay Leno's Garage - Video

By Toni M.

On Tuesday before the Laguna Seca GP, MotoGP championship leader Jorge Lorenzo, Tech3 Yamaha riders Ben Spies and Colin Edwards (minus Valentino Rossi); Yamaha legends Kenny Roberts Sr., Eddie Lawson, and Wayne Rainey and AMA Superbike championship leader Josh Hayes and Ben Bostrom headed to Jay Leno’s famous ‘Big Dog Garage” for some partying and to check out Leno’s over 200 motorcycles and cars collection.

As Leno hosted the Yamaha party, he was presented with a R1 AMA Superbike that Eric Bostrom rode in 2008, he also received with a set of leathers to match the bike from Alpinestars, and a Troy Lee designed one-off Arai helmet, which included signatures and elements from the designs used by the legends and MotoGP riders at the dinner.

Enjoy the video footage taken by Cycle World Radio’s Steve Natt.

Jay Leno donates Yamaha VMAX to charity

By Alison

Jay Leno VMAX

Jay Leno’s customised Star VMAX motorcycle will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction, with proceeds going to the Bailey’s Café charity, a community program bringing art education to some of New York’s toughest neighbourhoods.

The auction will take place in Las Vegas, and the brand new VMAX should fetch a good price, having just been re-designed by custom bike builder Jeff Palhegyi. He had just one week to redesign it with the only instructions from Jay Leno being: “this bike’s going to be bought by an enthusiast, so make sure to keep it rideable.”

The bidding range is not known, though the charity is hoping to achieve their 100,000 dollar goal. We figure that the sale of the bike, along with a few other bits and pieces will probably achieve that.

The History of Motorcycles - Part 1

By Toni M.

This is the first part of a series that explores the history and popularity of the two-wheeled wonder known as the motorcycle.

From the steam velocipede to the early 20th century, more than 100 years of motorcycle technology and the machine’s effect on society, when they were a low-cost alternative to automobiles; from Harley-Davidsons preferred by Hell’s Angels and police to motocross riders who take bikes into the air and onto the dirt. You can also see the motorcycle’s future, with interviews with manufacturers and enthusiasts such as Jay Leno with his jet-propelled Y2K sportbike and Erik Buell’s bike without a gas tank creation.

Another Desmosedici RR in the US: this time for Jay Leno

By Alison

Ducati in America has always been somewhat of a legend, although recently it’s passed from legend status to some serious sales for Ducati North America. We can add this Desmosedici RR for Jay Leno to the list. The historic tv show host and US comedian is lucky to have a collection of Ducati’s and this delivery in the US took place at Ducati headquarters with the presence of CEO Michael Lock.

The video shows a presentation of the bike, followed by a road test by the lucky owner, who adds it to his extensive collection, the last model of which was a 1985 Hailwood replica. He figured after 23 years it was time to get another one - you just can’t help bad luck can you?!

Harley Davidson stars: Jay Leno visits Harley museum

By Alison

jay leno harley

The new Harley Davidson museum has had one of its first celebrity visitors with motorcycle fan and “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno visiting the facilities. Leno was lucky enough to get himself a tour from curator Jim Fricke and senior director of factory and museum tours, Stacey Schiesl.

The museum is set to open on July 12, so Leno got himself a privileged, pre-inauguration tour. Next time you’re passing through Milwaukee, you might like to stop and visit.
