We took a look at the 2011 Bike Exif calendar as a motorcycle-themed gift for Christmas, but here’s what the in-crowd will be looking at next year: the 2011 Pirelli Calendar by Karl Lagerfeld. Nothing really to do with tyres, and even less so with motorcycles, it’s reached the same kind of world fame as Playboy and this year Lagerfeld is adding a touch of the artistic from the fashion world. The gods and goddesses theme has given him plenty to work with, and although it’s not really in the style of previous Pirelli calendars, it will certainly go down as one of the more adventurous in the history of the calendar. The costuming for grid girls looks like playschool in comparison. You won’t be buying this though, strictly for Pirelli customers and anyone it considers is worthy of a copy, but if Pirelli gets is MotoGP involvement from 2012, we could see more of these turn up on the motorcycle circuit.

This is a lesson in how to get the BMW S1000RR, Karl Lagerfeld and Leslie Porterfield in a room together. Photographer Markus Hoffman did a high fashion shoot with the BMW S1000RR, Porterfield and Lagerfeld outfits in the minimalist setting of the BMW Aerodynamic Test Centre wind tunnel facilities in Munich. Hoffman has continued the theme, pairing one of the hottest superbikes around with more high fashion shoots and supermodels. Fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld, alongside a photo shoot for Chanel’s pre-spring collection, also unveiled a customized Chanel motorcycle.

Lagerfeld is known for his forays into the motorcycling world and has even designed haute couture fur helmets.

The bike looks very retro chic, but we think that Madame Coco would approve, even though the bike won’t be commercialized.

I thought that Prada’s fur covered helmets were a little too much, but now another fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld has added to his 2010 autumn and winter collection a series of motorcycle helmets made in collaboration with Ruby, the French manufacturer of motorbike helmets.

The helmets that are covered in mink and chinchilla and fitted with a little i-pod pocket, and also come with matching coats and jackets.

Some serious lady bikers and animal lovers may ask do we really need this?

And the answer according to Lagerfeld is: “Now everyone is on scooters, even chic women, so we had to do the helmet”
