Video: Rossi vs Rossi - Ten years later

published by Toni M.

While everyone is still discussing Valentino Rossi’s QatarGP post race interview (video after the jump) and wondering why Ducati hasn’t gone beyond a simple no comment to Sky Sport adding only that their rider’s comments were ’strange,’ the struggling former World Champion decided to post this video of him racing against his father Graziano at the Biscia (Snake) Motoranch.

The video resumes a heated duel between the two, only ten year’s later. Commenting as always is the great Mauro Sanchini, World Superbike technical commentator on LA7 and super fan of Ben Spies.

Video: The Valentino Rossi Biscia race

published by Toni M.

Valentino Rossi promised he would post another video of his new Moto Ranch, dubbed the Biscia and this time the video is one of those wildly fought heats that the Italian and all his friends do to “train” and stay on the pointy end of bike control, but we think it’s mostly to have fun.

Sadly, the only one missing of this group of friends is the late Marco Simoncelli, but Valentino has mentioned that he’ll be putting together some footage of his friend when they used to go motocross riding at the Cava.

The guy commenting the race is the fantastic Mauro Sanchini who comments WSBK on the Italian channel La7.

Valentino Rossi & Friends at the Biscia

published by Toni M.

Valentino Rossi - La Biscia Ranch

We’ve already mentioned that Valentino Rossi is having his own motocross track and flat track oval, dubbed the Biscia Ranch (snake), built near Tavullia, while the place isn’t completely finished, he’s already having friends over to test the track out and hang out.

Last Friday saw multi-MX world champion Tony Cairoli - who now has his 2012 clothing line made by VR/46 - at Rossi’s ranch to “teach us how to ride a Motocross bike!great emotion to see him drive at the Ranch” and us included Andrea Iannone, Mattia Pasini and Rossi later tweeted “Vederlo guidare una vera goduria, eleganza impeccabile e facilità disarmante!ho provato a fargli una foto,ma era troppo in alto!” - translated - Watching him ride is pure pleasure, elegant, impeccable and disarmingly easy! I tried to take a photo but he was too high!

And the day after, European flat tracker Marco Belli - who also helped develop Graziano Rossi’s (that’s ‘Grazia’ in pic #4) and Paolo Chiaia’s Zaeta 530 - was out on the oval and apparently approved of the size of the track.

Valentino Rossi to open La Biscia MX track in Tavullia

published by Toni M.

La Biscia

These are the first photos of the Biscia (which means snake in Italian) ranch near Tavullia, where Valentino Rossi is having built his own private 1800 meter motorcross track with adjacent parking lot.

The Italian rider based his idea after seeing Kenny Roberts Sr. ranch, and received the approval and permits to build the track from the Tavullia city council, with the promise that he’ll also renovate two 1100 sq/mt colonial houses on the property and turn them into a museuem, a workshop and a bar that will be open periodically to the public and that he’ll hold occasional sporting events, when he and all his friends are not training.
