Ducati Goes Logo and Colour Mad (w/videos)

By Toni M.

The launch of of the Ducati Monster 796 has sparked the Italian marque to brink out some interesting promo videos to compliment the Monster 796’s smashing colours by adding them to their Monster Art Colour Therapy project. Not happy with only the Art Colour Therapy, Ducati has added what they’ve dubbed “Logomania” that introduces seven new schemes that also remembers the Ducati logos used in the past 50 years.

Whatever your mood, you can customize not only the new Ducati 796, but also the 696 or 1100 tank panels, micro-bikini fairing, single-seat cover and front mudguard with these kits.

Ducati Monster Titanium by Moto Corse

This Ducati Monster in titanium has been created by Motocorse and includes both mechanical and stylistic upgrades. The Ducati Monster 1100 Titanium is a unique model with a hugely reduced weight and greater performance.

The Monster Titanium has a black tint with red finish and titanium and carbonfibre parts which reduce weight by 156 kg. It now has 102.6 hp on a bike where more than 60 standard components have been changed.

The exhaust is a titanium Motocorse Evoluzione ø54mm and the modifications to the engine now result in figures of 102.6 hp and 113 Nm, up from 95 hp and 103 Nm. The brake discs are made from composite ceramic materials and measure 320 mm. They pair with Brembo Racing calipers and titanium pistons on a Motocorse radial mount.

Forged aluminium Marchesini wheels are included, and a full set of various titanium bolts and screws, with adjustable foot pegs on their own reduce weight by 12 kg. Motocorse offer two personalisation programs: Kit One Full Upgrade or Kit Two Standard Upgrade, and will also do the paint finish and assemble the parts. For more information see the Motocorse site.

Angeline Jolie gives Brad Pitt Ducati Monster 1100S

By Alison

Pitt and Jolie Motorcycle

While there are many reasons why you might want Angelina Jolie as a wife, one very good reason (for our TwoWheels readers) is that she gives great birthday presents. Already having given her husband one motorcycle, Jolie provides Brad Pitt with another motorcycle: this time a Ducati Monster 1100S.

Whether Brad Pitt will be able to ride all the motorcycles he has in his collection is a different issue, and now the surprise of a Ducati Monster 1100S titanium, seeing as it’s doing the rounds of the media, may not be such a surprise.

It looks like Jolie takes her husband’s role as a celebrity biker quite seriously, though Angelina doesn’t look like the kind of woman content to be just the passenger. Happy Birthday Brad Pitt…

The Monster 1100 is pure “made in Borgo Panigale” technology and the genius of a ‘less is more’ style. This is Ducati at its best, capable of building unique and authentic motorcycles that really perform.

The 169kg belie the power and sophistication of this bike, which also has a simple but elegant style. Coming up our feature posts, but in the meantime, here are some more pics for you to feast on.

Intermot: new Ducati GT1000 Touring

By koen

Ducati is presenting the new Monster 1100 bike at Intermot but also the new GT1000 Touring. The new GT 1000 Touring is an evolution of the Sport Classic family in terms of its components and accessories. The bike has a classic look with chrome handlebars , a luggage rack and front and rear fenders. The colour of the new Touring is gloss black. Troy’s Ducati 1098 and Casey Stoner’s GP bike are on show at the stand in Cologne.

“We have decided to strengthen our presence at Cologne,” stated Gabriele Del Torchio, Ducati’s CEO, during the show’s opening press conference, “because we understand the importance of this trade show, the show that opens the season for European industry exhibitions. Our strong presence here also demonstrates our commitment with regard to the German clients as well as clarifying our intention to grow in the German market, the second most important European market for Ducati. For these reasons we have decided to present the Monster 1100 and the new GT 1000 Touring for the first time here.”

Gabriele Del Torchio also commented on the results of the first six months of 2008, stating that, “Despite the slowing of the motorcycle market across the world, with sales in Europe falling by more than 7%, Ducati, thanks to its products and to the quality of its distribution networks has grown by roughly 8% with regard to the previous year.”
