After we showed you the spy shots of the Ducati Monster 1100, we got ourselves some exclusive access to the new Ducati naked, and interest has certainly been sparked amongst readers.
In a few days we’ll be giving you a preview of the bike, before its presentation to the public at the Cologne show in October. We might also have a test ride for you so stay tuned…!

New rumours on the Hellforleathermagazine site have revealed some juicy news on the Monster 1100, the Superbike 1198 and the highly anticipated Street Fighter 1098. While 2009 Ducati models will likely be shown at EICMA in Milan in November, some forward insight is always appreciated.
The 1098 will experience an increase in cylinder and performance, reaching 1198cc, the same as the 1098R. We might also see a restyling in the front of the bike, and an obviouse increase in price, at least on the US market.
The Monster 1100 could be teamed with an S version, and better performing Ohlins suspension. But the big news is in the street fighter 1098. The name could be changed to Hyperfighter which would indicate some of the changes to be made to this bike. This new motorcycle, halfway between a Monster and a Hypermotard, has a 1098 engine inherited from its superbike sister. We could see a styling cross between the Aprilia Tuono and the Brutale, with side exhausts.
All we have to do is wait for the Eicma show in Milan.

These spy shots of what seems to be the prototype of the Monster 1100 come from the DucatiMonsterClub site.
The quality of the shots is enough that we can appreciate the novelties introduced: the design has been taken from the Monster 696 model, with rear swing arm and lovely spoked wheels like on the Hypermotard.
For what we can see the bike keeps its dry-clutch, while the instrumentation is digital as per the 690cc. The bike could be presented at EICMA in Milan in November. So with a little patience, we should know more.
