The final day of Moto2 testing at Valencia, before the teams head off to Estoril for another pre-season test saw the 125cc World Champion Marc Marquez in his fourth test with the Suter chassis bike head the top of the timesheets with another 18-year old, Scott Redding, taking the same identical time of 1.35.6, which was already faster than last year’s Valencia race lap times, but the teams are not using official Honda 600cc engines.
The third spot went to last year’s Moto2 runner-up Julian Simon who was three tenths of a second slower, improving Friday’s best time by one tenth, while Márquez and Redding shaved off one second from their Friday times.
Yuki Takahashi was fourth with his Moriwaki posting the same times as Thomas Lüthi and Stefan Bradl on the Suter and Kalex.
Andrea Iannone, Aleix Espargaro, Alex de Angelis with Michele Pirro completed the top 10.
After the jump lap times and a couple of comments from some of the Moto2 riders.

Yesterday the Moto2 test kicked off at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, with the top spot speaking only Italian and shared by two riders, Alex de Angelis and Andrea Iannone.
The teams are running with unofficial engines (the official ones will be available only at Jerez) so we don’t exactly know what 600cc spec Honda engines the various teams are using, so lap times are unofficial and to be taken with a grain a salt.
Iannone (with his new Suter) and de Angelis (his JiR MotoBi with a new livery) both posted a time of 1’36.7, and the only riders to break under the 1′37 mark.
As customary with Moto2 lap times, there’s a gaggle of riders all within bare tenths of seconds of each other, with Julián Simón and Stefan Bradl tied for the second spot with a 1′37, followed by Marc Marquez who after spending two days at Barcelona, was just a tenth of a second off, as was Gresini’s new rider, Michele Pirro.
Last year’s MotoGP riders Aleix Espargaró and Mika Kallio, still coming to grips with their Moto2’s were 8th and 10th respectively.

The official IRTA Moto2 three day test kicks off today at Valencia, but unfortunately Kenan Sofuoglu won’t be present. The 2010 Supersport champion who switched to Moto2 at the end of last season, was forced to return to Turkey on Tuesday to see his father who is critically ill.
Sofuoglu missed the second day of testing at Barcelona having to fly back home to see his father, also a former racer and he was the one who gave Kenan the strength to continue racing after the tragic loss of brothers, Battahin e Sinan.
The Technomag CIP team will be testing in Valencia with Dominique Aegerter and Sofuoglu is expected to return to testing on February 15th, at Estoril.

Thirty-five Moto2 riders took to a cold and windy Valencia track yesterday for one day of official testing alloted to the teams. Several rider have yet to be officially confirmed, and were more or less auditioning for a ride in next season’s championship.
Unofficial test times confirmed this year’s Moto2 championship runner-up Julian Simon as fastest on track with his Suter, together with Stefan Bradl of Viesmann Kiefer Racing who tested a Kalex chassis.
Third best time went to British youngster Scott Redding who tested a revised Suter chassis, followed by Yuki Takahashi who got his first taste of Gresini’s Moriwaki machine after spending the season with Poncharal’s Tech3 squad.
