2011 Motoczysz E1pc first pic

By Alison

2011_Motoczysz_E1pc_first_pic

Here is the first pic of the new 2011 Motoczysz E1pc bike. It’s hard to tell from this angle what the bike’s style will be like, but A&R assure us it is hot looking, and super fast. From what we gather, it’s quite a new effort from Motoczysz with significant parts and components revised . In the comments we don’t think it’s very fair to say it looks like an appliance as the shot has been taken from an angle so as not to give it all away. More like an Apple product, really…. Further comments also suggest that the new E1pc could have about 200 hp. We can’t wait for more details.

Michael Czysz track tests the E1pc

By Alison

Here’s a video of Michael Czysz himself on track with his E1pc electric bike. What better way to build and develop a bike than to mix it with your testers on track? MotoCzysz is making quite a name for itself and especially after its success at the 2010 TT on the Isle of Man, it can be said that its perseverance has paid off.

After that event it’s clear that the E1pc has been built as a very fast race bike but we’ll be interested to see just where MotoCzysz goes in the future. It’s probably exactly the kind of player we need in the electric motorcycle field to bring the sector mainstream because at least with this bike, we now know it can produce hair-raising speeds. Another video after the jump.

2010 Isle of Man TT Zero readies for Wednesday race

By Alison

MotoCzysz E1pc spy shot

The second Isle of Man TT Zero practice takes place today before the official race scheduled for Wednesday, June 9th. The first practice on Saturday was an exciting event, with MotoCzysz looking to create some seriously fast competition before it ran out of battery charge before the finish, leaving team Agni Racing to complete the fastest lap.

There are ten bikes involved in this year’s TT Zero: Ecolve from London, Agni Racing who have two bikes, University teams Brunel and Kingston, MotoCzysz from America, Isle of Man based ManTTx Racing, Austria’s HTBLAUVA – XX Project, SERT (Swedish Electric Racing Team) and Germany’s Peace E Rider.

The spy shot above shows the MotoCzysz E1pc bike that’s racing and before it ran out of battery charge due to over-enthusiasm with the throttle on the part of the rider, it was producing some impressive figures. Quotes from the guys at MotoCzysz on the Isle of Man: “Another calibration test tomorrow and another Q session on Monday- spirits very HIGH here tonight!!!” Wednesday is going to be an exciting race for the electric bikes at the 2010 TT.

Mark Neale's 'Charge' movie: TTXGP Isle of Man zero emissions, maximum speed

By Alison

Check out Mark Neale’s new movie documentary Charge, chronicling the world’s first ever electric motorcycle race, the TTXGP, that took place at the 2009 Isle of Man’s Tourist Trophy. Neale is the director behind Faster which traces the story of the move from two-stroke 500cc GP racing to four-stroke bikes and the MotoGP.

Ewan McGregor gets to narrate, and the above trailer promises a fabulous movie. We get some high speed, on-board racing (Oh my God!!), the story of MotoCzysz and a great quote from Valentino Rossi: “There’s just one gear?” Check it out in the video trailer.

Motoczysz E1 PC tests before TTXGP

By Alison

Here we can see the zero-emission bike, Motoczysz E1 PC in action on the Portland circuit in the US, filmed testing before the TTXGP. We already reported on the evolution of the Motoczysz C1 Contender to electric technology.

The bike looks like it rides well despite the heavy batteries and the three electric engines. The bike reaches 120 miles an hour in approximately eight seconds, and will compete in the the TTXGP, gran prix for ecological bikes on the isle of Man on June 12th.

More videos are after the jump.

Motoczysz C1 to convert to ecology?

By Alison

Motoczysz C1 Contender 2009 al TTXGP

The US prototype, Motoczysz C1 Contender, could soon have an eco-friendly heir as the aim to revolutionise current concepts of racing bikes takes off.

After an accident has stalled the further development of the C1, it appears that Michael Czysz from the company feels as though he’s playing catch up in an industry that will eventually have to change its tune.

While we may not see a complete abandonment of the C1 technology with its impressive chassis and engine, the TTXGP news from the Motoczysz site could mean this technology will be brought to developing an electric motorcycle.

More updates are to follow at some stage (the TTXGP is being presented on April 8th), and if Motoczysz is developing an environmentally friendly, zero emissions bike, you can rest assured it will be one like no other. And we can’t wait to see it. After the jump a video of the current Motoczysz C1 Contender.
