It was a hectice final day of pre-season testing for MotoGP teams at Jerez after yesterday’s washout - and by the way I don’t know what you guys think but I personally miss the IRTA GP0 shootout for the BMW car - before the first race of the season at Losail, Qatar on April 8th.
Jorge Lorenzo dominated the eight hour test for much of the day. Around noon he fired off a 1.38.953 with his 18th lap that remained uncontested until the last half hour remaining in the test, until Casey Stoner came through with a final flyer of 1.38.780 to top the timesheets and they remained the the only two riders to do a sub 1.39 lap.
Most of the riders concentrated on race simulations, like Lorenzo who averaged a 1′40.310 on a 26 laps run, with Dani Pedrosa at 1′40.496 on the same distance, while Stoner only did a 10 lap run but his average pace was 1.39.697!
Dani Pedrosa came in third (his best lap was his 21st of 73) followed by Ben Spies in fourth and his best lap left him a little more than seven tenths off pace. Cal Crutchlow continues to duly impress on his Yamaha satellite machine with his fifth spot and he was just 0.090s from his Yamaha counterpart.
