Dani Pedrosa’s best lap time of 2’00″770 done earlier this morning when track temperatures were slightly cooler was unbeatable, not even his team mate Casey Stoner who moved up the timesheet in the final hour, to take second couldn’t make up the gap.

Stoner’s lap time of 2.01.434, left him a big 0,664s from Pedrosa who was testing the 2011 engine. Whatever Honda has come up with this final year of the 800’s, they’ve taken a big step in the right direction because all the RC212V’s have been up to par, with five Honda’s in the top six, while only poor Toni Elias is wandering around in 19th.

His excuse could be that he has to get back into the groove after spending a year in Moto 2 or he’s only one of two out of six Honda riders that isn’t official and hasn’t a full spec bike, but neither does Hiroshi Aoyama who finished in 6th today.
