Jorge Lorenzo at EICMA: "I would have loved to face Valentino on a Yamaha again"
As we reported yesterday, MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo was at the EICMA Show and after attending the opening ceremony with Italy’s PM Berlusconi, visited the Yamaha stand and his helmet manufacturer Nolan to meet fans and sign autographs.
Lorenzo talked about his win at Estoril, the title the upcoming season finale at Valencia and Yamaha. “It was a great day, particularly because I am sure Valentino gave it all.” said the new World Champion talking about his devasting win over Rossi at the Portoguese GP.
Lorenzo will be looking to win at Valencia, which isn’t known as a friendly track for the M1 and try to take Valentino Rossi’s record of number of points in a season. “It is important to finish on a high note, but I am really looking forward to take a break and re-charge my batteries for 2011.”
Talking about the 2011 season said “It is too soon to talk about next season, but I would have loved to face Valentino on a Yamaha once again. On the same bike, you don’t have an excuse, the stronger takes all, the loser cannot appeal to a technical deficit.” and about his team, “It is an amazing team, that gave me plenty of support from the very first moment” and whether he feels like the strongest rival of the Rossi era: “He should answer this question, not me…”

The 2011 Nolan helmet range has been presented with brand ambassadors Jorge Lorenzo, Carlos Checa and Marco Melandri all on board to enjoy the 2011 range launch. The new year sees some innovative and exciting helmet development from Nolan, including the new X-501 enduro helmet with hermetic visor and the X-402 GR jet helmet with removable chin protector.
The full helmet range will get new colours and graphics and will concentrate on various niche products from full face to jet helmets and more. Riders Lorenzo, Checa and Melandri joined representatives of the Italian police force (Nolan is the official supplier of many European police units) all with the message that racing is for the track only and showing that Nolan is at the forefront of motorcycle safety in its helmet range.
Motoblog.it was at the launch event, and had the opportunity to interview the riders and test the Nolan X-802 - the top-of-the-range racing helmet from the brand. This racing helmet has some of the best technology around with sophisticated ventilation and anti-fog systems, that is comfortable and quiet to wear. Nolan produces a Melandri and two Stoner replicas of this helmet which comes with a triple shell protection. New Nolan N90 helmet
The new Nolan N90 helmet has both full face and jet-helmet style capability. The chin part can be opened or closed with the external shell made from polycarbon. The visor part has a rapid release function, and features solar tinting and anti-scratch material.
The internal lining of the Nolan N90 can be removed and washed, and is made from Clima Comfort material with antibacterial treatment. The N90 is perfect for mid season use and can be adapted for summer and winter depending on the full face or jet option. It costs about 234 euros.
Carlos Checa's New 2010 Helmet
Check out Carlos Checa’s brand new helmet design for this 2010 season. Checa who will be racing with Althea Ducati in WSBK, decided that it was time to change the graphics on his lid, and Nolan Group who supplies his helmets was more than happy to satisfy the rider’s request.
The designs on the helmet are a metaphor of Checa’s life and passions and each single design tells a story, with the animals expressing his love for nature, for free climbing, surfing and all extreme sports. The continents represent the Spanish rider’s feeling of being a citizen of the world and the top of helmet sees a windrose compass.
Nolan Helmets will be selling this X-Lite X-802 Checa Replica from April 2010 and is priced at € 539,00 and will be available in all authorized dealers.

Nolan N62 Pulsar women's helmet
Here’s a couple of fancy designs from Nolan on its N62 full face helmet. The helmets have great quality-price ratio, and have sporty and attractive technical solutions. These N62 helmets appear in Pulsar design and have been made as women’s helmets.
The external shell is made from polycarbon Lexan® EXL materials, and the comfortable internal padding is ergonomic, removable and washable. The visor mechanism can be quickly removed and when closed prevents any air flow or water leaking through the face of the helmet.
The new N62 Pulsar has front air intakes and rear extractor vents for optimal air flow. The visor is made with Nolan Fog Resistant technology. The Nolan Pulsar costs 184 euros.
New X-Lite X-701 helmet
With everything from Harley helmets to supersports models, the X-Lite X-701 range should have something for everyone. New to this category are the Dolly N-Com and Essence N-Com graphics with a pin-up girl or graffiti style, depending on your taste.
The X-701 is X-Lite’s full face helmet with carbon fibre shell and three different sizes of XS/S, M/L, and XL/XXL. The internal Unitherm lining can be removed and washed, and the new internal shell allows for complete air circulation and breathing.
Demi-jet helmet: Nolan N20 Traffic
Here’s another jet helmet offering from Nolan. The N20 Traffic is ideal for city scooter use; with Lexan EXL polycarbon shell and different sizes the weight of the helmet is in proportion to the user.
The internal lining can be removed and washed, as can the neck roll. The visor is neutral in colour, with glasses style, UV protection and anti-scratch material. The closure is Microlock system.
Sizing available ranges from XXS to XXL with 17 different colours so you can always mix and match. New colours Pearl Violet and Pearl Orange are in the photos. Price is 139 euros.
Nolan helmets: the X-Lite X-802:
Nolan’s X-Lite brand is certainly one of the most popular on the market for bike helmets, and in 2009 they have produced another impressive top-of-the-range racing helmet, the new X-802.
Each component of this helmet has been designed separately, and with plenty of experience in MotoGP racing, including with riders Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo, the testing of these products couldn’t be better.
The X-802 features three external shell sizes (fit for XS/S, M/L, and XL/XXL), and a rear aerodynamic spoiler with Adjustable Stability Device. The new spoiler is fit for high speed use and assists the flow of hot air from the inside of the helmet.

If you get in quick, this Casey Stoner helmet could be yours. The charity auction Cuore d’Atleta on E-bay has this autographed Stoner memorabilia, Nolan N94, that was used in the last unforgettable season from the Ducati rider.

Nuovo X-Lite X-602
X-lite has released its new X-602 model, an integrated helmet in composite fibres with a competitive price of 289 euros. The X-602 represents a technical evolution, including some new design, from its predecessor the X-601, and represents the benchmark for the entry level segment.
The X-602 has an external shell in three different sizes (XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL), that mean the helmet is available to a wide range of users. The General Electric visor is in Lexan® OQ, and the scratch resistant quality can also be equipped with Nolan’s fog resistant system.
Nolan N103 helmet
Nolan has presented its new N103 helmet - a versatile and functional helmet, adapted for scooters and whoever makes moto-tourism a lifestyle. With the experience gained from models N100, N101 and N102, the N103 is the next step in the high standard Nolan products.
The internal sun visor is the best improvement on previous models, and is fully accessible and removable for cleaning or replacement. The shell is in polycarbon Lexan® EXL, and the N103 is also equipped with the Dual Action mechanism which allows for opening with only one hand when placed at the centre of the chin.
Nolan N94 Replica Stoner and Melandri
Nolan reveals to riding fans the new N94 in two different designs: the classic Replica Stoner and the exclusive design used by the Australian champion during the Phillip Island race in 2007.
In addition to the “Stoner” version, you can also find the Nolan N94 in Replica Melandri, Replica Melandri Italia and Replica Gresini, as the company dresses both riders of Team Marlboro Ducati.
The external shell of the N94 is constructed in composite fibres with X-lite technology in three different sizes (XS/S - M/L – XL/XXL), so the weight and volume of the helmet are well contained and in proportion to the rider’s size. The visor is scratch-proof and equipped with a series of the Nolan Top Fog Resistant system.
