Triumph "Speed Web" custom built Speed Triple

By Alison

This lovely special edition Triumph Speed Triple has been custom built by some of the guys on the “Triumph che passione” Italian forum. They’ve named it “Speed Web” and it has been entirely constructed from parts and accessories purchased via the net, and then assembled by the owner “Japkiller” and another forum user, “Gamberetto”.

We’re very impressed with the effort. The Triumph Speed Web has hydraulic clutch and special disc brakes, Ohlins sports shock absorber and rear Lavizzari exhaust, giving this particular Triumph a lovely sound. The modifications take the bike to 121.6 hp and 105 Nm.

While Triumph purists will balk at the missing front twin headlamp, replaced by a small Mt-03, the white and blue colour combo is quite stunning, and other small features include rear LED lights and a number plate mounted around the rear wheel with a nicely made special frame. Overall, we offer our compliments on a job well done!

Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP onboard video

By Alison

Here’s an onboard video of the new Ducati Hypermotard 1100. This particular version is the Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP, which is equipped with a Desmodue Evoluzione 1100 cc engine, with bore and stroke of 98×71,5mm. Other modifications increase the power of the Hypermotard, taking it up 5 hp to a total of 95 hp (69.9 kW) at 7,500 rpm. It has torque of 10.5 kgm at just 5,750 rpm.

Other fun bits on the Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP is the Marzocchi fork with DLC material (Diamond Like Carbon), Ohlins shock absorber, Brembo callipers the same as those on the Ducati superbike, and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres. After the jump is another video from Tor Sagen with his Hypermotard test ride.

Suzuki Katana retro cool makeover

By Alison

Suzuki Katana makeover

This beautiful Suzuki Katana makeover has been produced by Steve, who has done an exceptional job with preserving what is still a classic, 80’s retro bike. This new Katana 1100 has a Wiseco piston kit, gas flowed head, EFE 1100 cams with adjustable cam sprockets and Keihin 37mm carburetors.

Other technical modifications include titanium bolts on the engine and a Racefit custom-built titanium exhaust system. Steve has also added K4 GSX-R750 front fork, rear Ohlins shock absorbers, and the brakes are Brembo with a mix of components from the Yamaha R1 and Suzuki TL1000. The Katana also has a Suzuki Bandit 1200 swing arm and 17-inch Dymag alloy wheels.

That’s a very cool kit, and aesthetically-speaking, it all works. Steve says the whole lot, including the original bike, cost about 6,000 pounds, with most parts coming from mates or online auction sites. Meaning, choose your friends wisely….?

Ducati Multistrada 1100S my 2009

By Alison

Ducati Multistrada 1100S 2009

As we had thought, the Ducati Multistrada 1100S will offered in the distinctive pearl white colouring for 2009. This colour is combined with the racing grey chassis and new engine cover in carbon grey.

On the Multistrada 1100S, other carbon finishes stand out, typical of a racing style, including front mudguard, fan belt cover, and alloy handles.

An Ohlins fork features at the front, with upside-down stems at 43mm, together with TiN technology on the hydraulic brakes for better extension and compression. An Ohlins single shock absorber features on the rear, complete with a remote control for the spring.

Harley XR 1200 Trophy: stars and stripes competition

By Alison

La H-D XR 1200 versione race

Despite its fame due to touring and custom models, Harley Davidson also has a long racing tradition, and so couldn’t resist pulling this XR 1200 in an “R” version. And it’s not by chance that the XR takes its inspiration from the old short-track H-D, that in the 90’s created the Short Track 883 R trophy.

The Milwaukee company is now going back to racing with the same formula and the XR 1200, with the debut of the XR 1200 Trophy at Magione (Perugia) on October 12.

This is a one-brand competition organised by Harley Davidson Italia with the new American naked as protagonist.

SBK Vallelunga: Nori Haga wants to score some more points

By koen

Nori Haga is planning to score some more points this weekend at Vallelunga. In July the Yamaha Motor Italia SBK Team went for a successful FGSport test session at the Italian racetrack and today, they’re seeing some good opportunities at the final Italian round. Haga secured a podium finish last year for Yamaha and the team will use the technology with the Ohlins variable electronic suspension.

Nori Haga’s opinion: “I’m going into the Vallelunga race ready to score more points. Donington didn’t turn out well, but I am determined to have a good raceday this weekend. We have tested at Vallelunga already this year, so that will help us to find good setting for the track.”

If you like Haga’s riding style, why don’t you order his latest ” Nitro Pack”? It includes his t-shirt, cap, badge and a phone screen cleaner.
