When we announced that Elena Rosell would be riding the 2012 Moto2 championship with QMFF, we also mentioned that the Qatari Motorcycle Federation has promoted an all female team during the 2011 Losail round of the QTEL FIM Endurance championship, the 8 Hours of Doha.
Paola Cazzola, Nina Prinz and Nikolett Kovacs raced in the Superstock category with a Suzuki GSX-R run by Qatar Endurance Racing Team (QERT) and finished 6th in their category and a respectable 17th overall, which isn’t bad as Cazzola earlier in the year had to undergo emergency surgery for a very large abdominal tumor.
The FIM has added this video of the three females riders talking about how they got into racing on their website as part of their admirable promotion Women Ride.
Kuja Racing will be fielding another female racer in this upcoming weekend World Supersport Championship at Misano.
After Paola Cazzola who was dropped after four rounds, but is now making a comeback in a new team, Kuja Racing has entered 28 year old Hungarian rider Nikolett Kovács to replace Andrea Boscoscuro, who injured himself during a training accident at the Mugello.
Niki as she is know, won the Dunlop Trophy for Ladies in 2009 and she’s also the Female lap record holder at the Hungaroring circuit and took third in the Women’s European Championship. In 2007 she was the first Hungarian woman to take part as a wildcard in the 125cc Gran Prix in Turkey, but she did not qualify for the race.

Paola Cazzola will be returning to the World Supersport Championship with a new team. Cazzola who was to race an entire season in the series, suddenly disappeared from the Kuja Racing Team after just fours rounds to be replaced by Andrea Boscoscuro and now be making a comeback with team Elle 2 Ciatti, which has it’s home base in Rome.
The female rider penned the new deal during the third round of the Italian CIV championship and she’ll be riding a Yamaha R6 in this upcoming WSS round at Misano.
“I’m very happy to be returning to WSS for our home race and on track that I can show all my potential,” said Cazzola “Thanks to Team Elle 2 Ciatti, I’ll also be at the Imola, and the French (MagnyCours) and German (Nurburgring) rounds and we are also discussing the possibility of going to Brno.”
“These two months of inactivity have been so long and I can’t wait to get back in the saddle, more determined than ever. I’d like to thank the team, the sponsors and all the people who have been close to me and who are helping me to continue living my dream.”

On the classic Australian circuit of Phillip Island where the official Infront tests took place last weekend before the season opener, one of the newest additions to the World Supersport grid is Paola Cazzola, who rides the #33 Honda for Kuja Racing.
Dave Contini got a chance to talk to Paola and asked her a few questions about her newest racing adventure.
Q: You’re one of the fastest women riders on the planet, you’ve shown that you deserve to ride and compete at an international level. How was the first impact with testing at Phillip Island?
A: Firstly, I’d like to thank you for the compliments, I want to say that I know a lot of riders who deserve to ride at world level, but in our field as everyone knows, money talks and maybe being the first women to take part full season in the series has helped me.
My first impression was that for the first three laps at Phillip Island I seemed to be inside a video game, the track is very fast, with turns that you do in full fourth and fifth gear that make you hold your breath! The track is much tighter than I expected and at certain speeds if you miss your marks even by a little …it’s not pretty!

Back in November we reported that Paola Cazzola was in talks for a ride in World Supersport Championship.
Well this lucky young lady has gotten her wish because she will be the first female rider ever to contest an entire season and she’ll be doing it with Kuja Racing on a Honda CBR 600RR.
Paola’s team mate will be Danilo Dell’Omo who raced for Kuja Racing last year finishing 19th in the final standings.
The team will be officially presented on Saturday the 16th at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona and then will head to Portimao for the official Supersport tests.
We may finally see a woman racing for an entire season in World SuperSport in 2010. Paola Cazzola, a 31 year old from Vicenza Italy may get the opportunity of a lifetime because she’s been offered a ride in this important championship.
Known in Italy as the “Valentino Rossi in pink” Cazzola won the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Italian Women’s Championship and occasionally races against men and in June won the Vallelunga race in the R6 Metzeler Cup group A series, beating in a four way battle her male colleagues and championship leader Stefano Casalotti.
“Top secret the name of the team and marque of the bike,” says Paola ““because I haven’t signed yet and I’d rather not say anything more, just in case…”

It was a perfect year for the Italian female rider Paola Cazzola, who was riding with the Yamaha YZF-R1 from the Yamaha team Pielle Moto- Villa Sandra. Paola won the five races in the Championship, achieved five pole positions and rode four fastest lap times.
Paola said to Twhowheelsblog, that she wants to thank her team for the strong performances from the bike: “The team was very professional and the bike was strong and fast during the entire season.”
Paola just returned from the desert after a trip to the Sahara for a raid and said to Twowheelsblog : “It was all very good this year, I went for a good winter training and the bike and team were perfect. In 2009, I want to perform again in the Italian Female Championship and I really hope to join the Italian Superbike Championship.” To the question of this strong motivation, Paola answered: “It’s my dream to participate in World Superbike with a wild card, that’s the goal for me.”
Today we give you an introduction to female rider Chiara Valentini from Italy. She wrote to Twowheelsblog:
Hi, I am Chiara Valentini, 33 years old. I started to race in 2004 for the Italian Women’s cup. In 2005, I raced together with Paola Cazzola and we were the first women in the official female Ducati team, called Y2K and we rode with a Ducati 999S : I finished the Italian Championship in third position. Then in 2006, I won the European Women’s Championship in the 600 class with the Ducati 749R. In the same year, unfortunately I had a crash at the last race of the Championship and I broke my shoulder. It was at Vallelunga. I finished the Championship as second.
Because of the crash I was not able to race in 2007. Only this year I started again and I am racing in the Ducati Desmo Challenge in the Protwins class. I am not only racing: I also report for the motorcycle television MotoTV on Sky together with Giacomo Agostini and Marco Lucchinelli, and I coach for the Italian Motorcycle Federation.
If you want, you can find all my news, information and photo gallery on my website.
Best regards to all!
Chiara.
Thank you Chiara, all the best from Twowheels!
