Aussie rider Damian Cudlin who at the last minute replaced Ricky Cardus in QMMF Racing Team will be riding not only the full season in Moto2, but he’ll also continue riding in the Endurance World championship with his previous team, BMW Motorrad France.
Cudlin will be a very busy rider over the next 8 months as he’ll be racing in 17 GP races, and 5 EWC events, stretching over 13 countries and starting with the opening round of the Moto2 World Championship will be the Grand Prix of Qatar on the 8th of April, followed a week later by the opening round of the Endurance World Championship- the Bol d’or 24 hour in France.
“I’m certainly going to have a heavy workload but who wouldn’t be excited to be competing in 2 World Championships in the same season?” Cudlin said. “This is really a dream come true for me and I’m absolutely wrapped how it’s all come together. I’ve waited my whole career for a grand prix ride, and now I’ll finally get my chance without losing the possibility of winning the Endurance World Championship in the same year. There’s been a lot of work behind the scenes to make this happen but it’s all been worth it. Now I just can’t wait to go racing!”

Moto2 is still playing musical chairs and the season hasn’t even started yet. The latest news coming out of Spain is that Ricky Cardus (Jorge Lorenzo’s BFF) has lost his ride with QMMF Moto2 team and will be replaced by Damian Cudlin.
Cardus made the jump to Moto2 GP after a few replacement rides and spent the full 2011 season with the Qatari team finishing 31st overall and was to be fielded with the newly signed Elena Rosell this 2012 season, however the Spanish rider got the bad news just a week ago. At the moment it isn’t known if Cardus lost his ride due to the ‘usual’ sponsorship problems.
Damian Cudlin made his appearance on the GP racing scene last season when he substituted for injured Loris Capirossi at Motegi and Hector Barbera at Phillip Island but had to withdraw from the Australian GP following a hip injury sustained during practice.
Cardus’ last chance in finding a ride could be with the Stop & Go Team who has yet to announce their second rider, but according to the latest rumors, the rider will not be of Spanish nationality.

Elena Rosell was the apple of discord between Sito Pons and Aspar Martinez, after Martinez decided to field the 25-year old as a replacement rider for injured Julian Simon during the Assen GP. Her Moto2 debut was disastrous as she crashed out three times and didn’t make the qualifying cut, but the powerful Spanish manager believed in her and her train and take part in the last three rounds of the CEV Moto2 championship with Team Laglisse (sponsored by Aspar), and had her wildcard at the Aragon and Valencia GPs where she finished 33rd and 25th, respectively.
Spanish website Marca.com is reporting that Rosell will now dispute the 2012 Moto2 season full time with the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation Racing Team (QMMF) and replace Qatari rider Mashel Al Naimi.
It isn’t the first time that the Qatari Motorcycle Federation promotes a female rider, infact they helped Paola Cazzola, Nina Prinz and Nikolett Kovacs race in the Superstock category with a Suzuki GSX-R run by Qatar Endurance Racing Team (QERT) during last month’s Losail round of the QTEL FIM Endurance championship.
Rosell will now be joining the likes of Katja Poensgen, Nikoletta Kovacs and Marketa Janakova, all of whom have competed at a World Championship level.
