Since its start in 2010 Moto2 has been a virtual merry-go-round of riders, with riders being moved around like pieces on a chess board, even during the season because of lack of results, sponsors who don’t pay or even because they don’t have the proper appeal to the team’s sponsors.
So after the recent announcement that Ricky Cardus lost his QMMF ride to Damian Cudlin we now get that Kenny Noyes has lost his ride with Arguiñano Racing Team that he had signed up for last November, and you guessed it, the ride was given to Cardus.
Apparently Cardus has come up with an energy drink sponsor (and I’m betting on Rock Star) and that according to the Spanish press will cover almost all the Cardus’ racing budget.
With the season to kick off in two months, we could still see other changes to the Moto2 entry list.

Moto2 is still playing musical chairs and the season hasn’t even started yet. The latest news coming out of Spain is that Ricky Cardus (Jorge Lorenzo’s BFF) has lost his ride with QMMF Moto2 team and will be replaced by Damian Cudlin.
Cardus made the jump to Moto2 GP after a few replacement rides and spent the full 2011 season with the Qatari team finishing 31st overall and was to be fielded with the newly signed Elena Rosell this 2012 season, however the Spanish rider got the bad news just a week ago. At the moment it isn’t known if Cardus lost his ride due to the ‘usual’ sponsorship problems.
Damian Cudlin made his appearance on the GP racing scene last season when he substituted for injured Loris Capirossi at Motegi and Hector Barbera at Phillip Island but had to withdraw from the Australian GP following a hip injury sustained during practice.
Cardus’ last chance in finding a ride could be with the Stop & Go Team who has yet to announce their second rider, but according to the latest rumors, the rider will not be of Spanish nationality.

We already posted that MotoGP and Moto2 riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ricky Cardus were taking part in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Barcelona car endurance race at the Montmelò circuit and the two riders along with drivers Álvaro Fontes and José Manuel de los Milagros had a very good race, as they finished 5th overall in the gruelling race.
This unusual assortment of drivers for the PCR Sport team, however went even better as the team grabbed first prize in the A3T category with their #39 Seat León Supercopa, and ended up the best finishing Spanish team in the endurance race.
The race so hard, that Lorenzo commented he was exhausted by the brutal heat and that he probably won’t take part in another race of this type.
Lorenzo and Cardus weren’t the only two-wheel professional riders present at the event, because Dakar Rally champion Marc Coma also partecipated and his Team Competition Monlau took 12th overall (5th in his category), while Laia Sanz, the eleven time Woman’s Trial World Champion finished 18th overall and won in the A2 category.

It’s official, Jorge Lorenzo has gotten the car racing bug. The reigning MotoGP World Champion will be taking part in the 24 Hours of Barcelona this upcoming weekend, after his Copa de España de Resistencia (CER) partecipation earlier this month, where his team won.
Just as for the CER race, sharing the wheel of the Leon Supercopa (D4) prepared by the PCR Racing team, will again be Alvaro Fontes and Jose Manuel de los Milagros, with the addition of Moto2 GP rider Ricky Cardus (QMMF Racing), Lorenzo’s BFF.
Each driver will be on track for two hour shifts for the 24 hour race.
Jorge Lorenzo: “I think within 24 hours the team and stops are even more important than the drivers. All together we have to do a good job and enjoy it, because it is a beautiful race. At the end the consistent ones and drivers who think in the car are the ones who usually get good results.”

As we reported last week that Jorge Lorenzo was going to personally sponsor long time friend Ricky Cardus in the Spanish CEV with the X Fuera logo and here’s a neat photo of the two Spanish riders together with the Laglisse Suter MMX bike with Lorenzo’s logo on display.
With the Motegi GP postponed and flights grounded across Europe, Lorenzo was able to attend the opening round of the CEV Championship where he watched his friend make his debut in the Moto2 category at the Catalunya circuit and take an excellent fourth place in a closely fought race, which saw Cardus miss the the third spot on the podium by just 0.047s.
The Moto2 race was won by Jordi Torres.
