Robbie Maddison did another of his spectacular and breathtaking jumps and this time the Australian FMX star jumped over the Corinth Canal in Greece.
Maddison cleared the 85 mt canal that separates the Peloponnesian peninsula from the Greek mainland using special ramps and had to reach a speed 125 km/h with his Honda CR 500 to order to clear the jump.
Robbie Maddison said: “Overcoming fear, that’s always the hardest part. Jumping across the Corinth Canal became a challenge I just could not resist. This Jump involved the highest consequences I have faced so far. I believe that sometimes you have to take risks in life to become wiser and facing a challenge like this will help get me ready for the next aim I will face in the future. I am thrilled about managing to pull it off, as you know there is only one opportunity to get it right!”
Another video after our jump.

Four riders had almost equal chances to win the 2009 Red Bull X Fighters World Tour Championship at London’s Battersea Power Station, Nate Adams, Mat Rebeaud, Robbie Maddison and Eigo Sato, but at the end of the event Saturday evening, it was Nate Adams who finally took the prestigous crown.
A heavy fall stopped Rebeaud in the quarter final, resulting in bruises, stitches and a flat tire. Eigo Sato was also forced out in the quater finals, after a fall he picked during Friday’s qualification, while Adams went on to defeat Robbie Maddison in the semi finals and then 17 year old Levi “Rubber Kid” Sherwood in the final.
This year’s Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour also saw the first ever double backflip in FMX history by Cameron Sinclair.
Results after the jump.

Spanish rider Dany Torres grabbed the victory at Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009 last Friday night in Madrid in the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas bullfighting arena. Nate Adams took second, while Robbie Maddison was third.
Maddison just four days before the Madrid event, was the first motorcycle rider to ever jump the Tower Bridge in London.
Robbie “Maddo” Maddison does it again. This time the 27 year old Australian daredevil performed a no-handed backflip over an open Tower Bridge in London, becoming the first rider in history to jump the bridge on a motorbike.
The Wizard of Oz as he’s also known, had an approach speed of approximately 40mph, taking off from the north side of the bridge, performed the no-handed backflip, and held his landing in front of the south tower.
Robbie Maddison:
“The whole experience was awesome. Since the jumps in Las Vegas I have been set on doing something special here in London so the Red Bull team and I have been secretly scoping out Tower Bridge for months. We had a matter of minutes on the bridge and had to time everything to the second, there were so many factors to get right, but we pulled it off. People say I’m crazy, but I just want to push the boundaries of my sport and my body to the limit and I love taking on these huge challenges. It was an incredible feeling to fly between the two towers and over the Thames.”

At the second event of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009 in Calgary, Canada, FMX Superstar Robbie “Maddo” Maddison who is known for his world record feats was able to stay in front of Japan’s Eigo Sato and Mat Rebeaud and take his first X Fighters win in front of a sell out crowd of 21,000 spectators at the Stampede Park.
Robbie Maddison:
“I can’t believe it. It’s a dream come true. The hard work paid off. The whole day was totally insane. I had a feeling from the start that I had a chance to win today, and after winning the quarter-final against Nate Adams I knew I could go all the way.”
This is for sure the biggest win of my career because it was on an international playfield.I’ve won events before but not of this magnitude. This has always been a goal of mine and it ranks up there with my world records.
The event was sick. The place was sold out, we had the best riders in the world, every rider was on point, and I can honestly say this was the best event I have ever been a part of.”
Robbie “Maddo” Maddison the Aussie daredevil did it again. In the Red Bull New Year No Limits Event Robbie Maddison said hello to 2009 by climbing on his Yamaha motocross bike, launching up a ramp and flying vertically almost straight up 37 metres in the air and landing on top of a mock replica of France’s iconic monument, the Arc de Triomphe that is outside the Paris Casino on the Las Vegas strip.
Upon completing the jump and getting his bike slowed down in the space allotted, he then dropped off the Arc and free falled on another ramp.
Our congragulations and all our admiration goes to Robbie Maddison.
Swiss Mat Rebeaud has won the third round of the Red Bull X-Fighters, held in Texas in front of 20,000 spectators.
On the Forth Worth track, constructed specifically for the event, 12 riders from around the world battled it out, but the European won in front of locals Jeremy Stenberg and Jeremy Lusk.
Rebeaud is at the top of the table with 280 points, and said of the US work “This is my first victory in America. I gave it everything in my last jump and if something had gone wrong I would have paid dearly.” The Swiss star managed a Backflip Superman Indy (in the photo), in the final run of the evening. “It was decisive in the victory. I felt under pressure but now the relief is indescribable.”
