We can see some motorcycling in the snow with this video of the Govecs electric SlideScooters from Riminimoto. The Italians have adapted their passion for motorcycling to the winter season as well, and with the snow that Europe has seen in the last couple of weeks, it’s not surprising they’re finding more ways to enjoy two wheeling in winter.
The Slidescooters bike is a combination of a standard scooter with SKS front slide (like a skateboard without wheels) that subsitutes the front wheel. The Govecs bikes are a true alternative to snow mobiles and old-fashioned sleds, being effective, environmentally friendly and economical. For more information, see the slidescooters.com site.

These pics show what riding a motorcycle in the European winter may entail for the die-hard bikers of this world. With record below-zero temperatures over the last week in Europe, the peril of having a bike as your only means of transport is clearly pictured. The big question is: would you or wouldn’t you….?

Here’s a look at Chris Pfeiffer snow motorcycling with a modified version of the BMW G450X for the snow. With the winter season coming on, we’ll be seeing more snow-tuned motorcycles out for some off-road, on the snow fun, though with Pfeiffer falling over a couple of times, it’s probably harder than it looks. The G450X has been modified with BMW’s “Snowcat” kit.
We love the bike in this photo, but we’re a little concerned about the tyres. While the Daytona 675 is not a slow bike, we wonder what the effect of these tyres is. While the motorcycle would be a lot of fun for a joy ride in the snow, we expect a lap on the track would be a little uncomfortable.

If you needed convincing that there are some truly crazy people out there, particularly crazy bike riders, this video should do the trick. While we’ve seen plenty of snow fun with your motorcycle over the last few weeks, this is the first motorcycling on ice we’ve come across.
One word of advice: careful on the braking or you might find the bike suddenly tips forward. At that’s not a pleasant thing when riding on ice… The video after the jump.
We’ve already looked at some snow tuning options for your bike this winter; but here RiminiMoto, a tuning workshop, has all the fun for your scooter, transforming your 50cc into snow mobiles.
All you need is to equip a small MBK Booster (Yamaha BW’s), a Honda Zoomer or a CUB Honda, with a front skate or ski and you’re done. The new front can be modified depending on the kind of terrain you intend to play in.
Ski fields or even sand dunes are the perfect environment for these “Sliding Scooters”. Check out the video after the jump for all the fun of extreme scooter tuning.

It has done nothing but snow in Italy over the last week or so and while it’s great for skiing it’s not so great for motorcyclists. This rider though, seems unperturbed by the snow and has continued on his way to work in Milan.
This video was taken just after 7am today with more than ten centimetres of snow in Milan and bad road conditions. I can only imagine how cold it must have been on this motorcycle in the snow.

If you happen to visit the upcoming Motor Show fair in Essen, Germany you can see this big drivable motorbike. The fair will open from November 29th until December 7th.

Is powered by a 8.2 Litre V8 engine. The tyres are 1.88 meters tall, we don’t know if the brand is Bridgestone or Michelin? If you were looking for a hefty snow-bike… Picture by AP Photo/Frank Augstein.

It’s supposed to snow here this weekend, so to get yourself prepared for the motorcycle snow season, you might want to spend some time in your garage tuning up your bike… possibly with a monoski on the front and a roller wheel on the back.
These guys have tuned up their motocross bikes and are showing the skidoos how to really enjoy the snow. Snowboarders make way - the extreme sport of snow motorcycling is here.
