Ducati has started the hype on their new Superbike with teaser videos starring Troy Bayliss and then a video announcement that they christened it 1199 Panigale, with some purposely out of focus shots of the bike to stimulate our interest ahead of the EICMA show in November, but nothing can compete with these recent spy shots to get people talking.
Captured on a Italian highway, this rather chubby test rider takes the 1199 for a spin decked out in white and red Ducati leathers (Spanx and black leathers would be more slimming) and a Casey Stoner Nolan X-Lite replica helmet (another guy who wants the Australian back in Ducati?).
We can’t tell if the 1199 Panigale is ultra compact or that the rider is just so big that it makes it look even smaller (it should weight in at about 179kg) but at least you tell that it will have a Termignoni exhaust.

One of Motoblog’s readers captured these spy shots outside of Bologna of this new motorcycle that has the unmistakeable trellis frame of a Ducati. Judging from the side shots this new Ducati model could actually be the Mega Monster performance cruiser that many have been waiting for.
Last year we saw a maquette of a Ducati cruiser and this bike has more than passing resemblance. The tail end looks shorter than normal, infact it doesn’t seem to have a real tail, and the longitudinal rear lights are a row of LEDs and it’s mounting a big double exhaust and a super tire.
Want to be bet that this is going this year’s new Ducati motorcycle and it’s going to get it’s launch at the EICMA show?

While we don’t have a full gallery of the Benelli TnT 899 Cafe Racer, unless it’s presented at the EICMA show, this one pic shows the sports bike testing around the alpine passes of Italy and France. It’s a smaller and sportier version of the Benelli 1130cc model, and the tests prove that Benelli is still going ahead with the project despite financial difficulties.
The 899 project is considered a more economical and intelligent choice than the larger 1130 model. While an exciting bike, its high power and torque means it’s not necessarily accessible to all riders. The only problem will be releasing another Benelli model to dealerships still holding leftover TnT 1130 bikes at discounted prices.
The Benelli TnT 899 model could prove to be even cheaper than the 1130 as dealers try to sell off the last models of the latter. The new Benelli should keep the same design as the previous model, with the main focus being the change in engine.
We can hardly wait for next month’s EICMA Show in Milan to see the uveiling of some some of those new bikes that we have seen spyshots of, but while we’re waiting, why not check out what the other side of the world is up to, and potentially the biggest motorcycle market of the world, China.
Here’s motocycle.com video of the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition, CIMA Motor with 333 exhibitors, 27 motorcycle companies and nearly 1,000 motorcycles on display.
Here are spy shots of the instrumentation of the Ducati Stradaperta for 2010, a model which is arousing much interest, even having an online community dedicated to it before its release. The instrumentation seems to be complete in all aspects: fully digital, it has a large display and well-sized lights in an original design.
There’s plenty of plastic, but it looks like quality, and there is space to keep personal belongings. The photos are a nice close up, and we get another look at the whole, seeming like a very large insect. While the Stradaperta is still camouflaged, the front in these spy shots is likely to be its final look, though we’ll know more when it’s presented at the 2009 EICMA show. Do we really have to wait that long??

Here are spy shots of the new Honda V4 1200, ready for the market in 2010. It will take on the role previously held by the VFR 800, as a sport touring bike, and will have some very special technology, including Variable Cylinder Management for example.
These pics show the V4 1200 in its final version, as it was likely on a photo shoot before its presentation at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan in November. According to the source of these pics, the Honda V4 at the end of its run, was surrounded by mechanics and a larger group of people, possibly journalists.
This V4 was equipped with side bags, making it look squat, but comfortable, while overall the wider bike makes it look more touring than sport. Whether the source had been lying in wait in the grass on the side of the road or just passing by, we certainly appreciate the pics!!

These spy shots show the MV Agusta, 675cc three-cylinder F3 in road tests. The name is temporary and the project won’t see the light until at least autumn 2010.
The new MV Agusta bike shows a compact sportsbike, with some F4 bodywork that is a little out of proportion at the moment. The frame is difficult to see and the carter seems to be higher than the four-cylinder motor of the F4.
In addition the swingarm seems to come from the Yamaha R6, so it’s safe to say we’re some way off the final product at this stage. While the bike should be presented at some stage late 2010, here’s hoping we’ll get some extra details at the EICMA show this year.

Solomoto has published these shots of a BMW prototype, and according to the Spaniards it could be the new K 1300 S. You can see the prominent rear swing arm on this new “K” from the German company.
The K 1300 S, in addition to some new instrumentation, will be equipped with a new engine at about 1300cc. The model is likely to be presented at the next Cologne show in 2008, together with other news from the company, on the S 1000 RR which will debut in 2009 in the World Superbike Championships.
