According to WSBK rider Vittorio Iannuzzo’s personal website, his team Squadra Corse Italia (S.C.I.) will be skipping this upcoming World Superbike championship round at Assen.

S.C.I Team Manager Umberto Pezziniti has decided not to have Vittorio Iannuzzo ride this weekend after Iannuzzo’s scary crash with Kawasaki rider Simon Andrews during race 2 at Valencia and allow the the Italian rider more time to to get back to full fitness.

“The decision to take part in the Dutch round came after a careful analysis of our resources,” said Pezziniti. “Unfortunately Vittorio has a swollen right hand and still needs a little time off to recover completely. At this point, our objective is to go on with the development of our CBR1000RR, so we can afford to make this break and I am sure this decision will not negatively influence our schedule. This break will make us even more motivated to return with the aim of obtaining a satisfactory result in the race. ”

Squadra Corse Italia is due to return for the Monza round May 9th.
